Quick Wrap: Nifty Auto Index rises 4.26%

Nifty Auto index closed up 4.26% at 5679.7 today. The index is up 2.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, TVS Motor Company Ltd gained 6.49%, Hero MotoCorp Ltd added 6.42% and Tata Motors Ltd jumped 6.23%. The Nifty Auto index is down 30.00% over last one year compared to the 18.08% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Media index added 2.70% and Nifty Private Bank index is down 2.21% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has dropped 0.13% to close at 9239.2 while the SENSEX is down 0.26% to close at 31561.22 today.
