Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index rises 4.08%

Nifty Media index closed up 4.08% at 1939.15 today. The index is up 10.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd gained 12.43%, Balaji Telefilms Ltd rose 8.96% and Jagran Prakashan Ltd added 7.83%. The Nifty Media index is down 20.00% over last one year compared to the 12.91% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index is down 2.16% and Nifty PSE index has dropped 1.95% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has slid 0.26% to close at 11968.4 while the SENSEX is down 0.19% to close at 40575.17 today.
