Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index falls 2.27%

Nifty Metal index ended down 2.27% at 3337.05 today. The index has gained 4.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd shed 3.83%, Steel Authority of India Ltd slipped 3.81% and JSW Steel Ltd fell 3.80%. The Nifty Metal index has fallen 1.00% over last one year compared to the 15.03% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Media index has dropped 1.38% and Nifty Pharma index added 1.20% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 is down 0.44% to close at 11385.05 while the SENSEX has dropped 0.50% to close at 37663.56 today.
