Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index falls 5.46%, NIFTY Crashes 2.08%

Nifty Metal index closed down 5.46% at 2469.6 today. The index has slipped 12.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd dropped 9.57%, JSW Steel Ltd fell 8.11% and Steel Authority of India Ltd slipped 6.88%. The Nifty Metal index has fallen 13.00% over last one year compared to the 9.62% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Auto index has dropped 3.49% and Nifty Pharma index has slid 2.97% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has slid 2.08% to close at 11829.4 while the SENSEX has slid 1.96% to close at 40363.23 today.
