Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index records a surge of 2.35%

Nifty Metal index ended up 2.35% at 2337.1 today. The index has lost 3.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Vedanta Ltd rose 4.18%, Tata Steel Ltd gained 2.74% and Hindalco Industries Ltd jumped 2.72%. The Nifty Metal index has decreased 29.00% over last one year compared to the 10.46% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty IT index increased 1.51% and Nifty Realty index added 0.96% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 0.63% to close at 11305.05 while the SENSEX increased 0.65% to close at 38127.08 today.
