Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index rises 3.98%, NIFTY jumps 2.32%

Nifty Metal index closed up 3.98% at 3438.1 today. The index is down 5.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Welspun Corp Ltd added 9.81%, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd jumped 6.95% and JSW Steel Ltd gained 4.98%. The Nifty Metal index is down 8.00% over last one year compared to the 3.73% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Auto index added 3.95% and Nifty Commodities index increased 3.50% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 2.32% to close at 10472.5 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 2.15% to close at 34733.58 today.
