Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index falls 2.59%

Nifty PSU Bank index closed down 2.59% at 1087.2 today. The index has slipped 17.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Bank of Baroda dropped 5.44%, Union Bank of India fell 2.97% and Central Bank of India shed 2.83%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has fallen 66.00% over last one year compared to the 24.93% slide in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Consumption index gained 2.04% and Nifty Media index increased 2.00% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.63% to close at 8879.1 while the SENSEX increased 0.56% to close at 30196.17 today.
