Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index gains 3.02%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended up 3.02% at 3222.05 today. The index has gained 16.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Bank of India rose 5.01%, Canara Bank gained 3.64% and State Bank of India jumped 3.21%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has fallen 3.00% over last one year compared to the 15.82% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty FMCG index gained 1.92% and Nifty Metal index added 1.71% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 0.75% to close at 11470.75 while the SENSEX increased 0.75% to close at 37947.88 today.
