Saurashtra Cement jumped 9.49% to Rs 62.30 at 15:23 IST on BSE after a bulk deal of 24.13 lakh shares was executed on the counter at Rs 57.30 per share on BSE at the onset of the trading session.
Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 352.86 points or 1.41% at 25,305.60.
On BSE, so far 28.39 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 1.76 lakh shares in the past one quarter. The stock hit a high of Rs 64.45 and a low of Rs 57.30 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 81 on 15 July 2015. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 36.15 on 4 June 2015. The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 18 March 2016, surging 26.44% compared with Sensex's 5.51% rise. The scrip had, however, underperformed the market in past one quarter, sliding 20.14% as against Sensex's 2.22% fall.
The small-cap company has equity capital of Rs 51.19 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.
Saurashtra Cement reported net loss of Rs 2.55 crore in Q3 December 2015 compared with net profit of Rs 11.76 crore in Q3 December 2014. Net sales declined 4.9% to Rs 125.34 crore in Q3 December 2015 over Q3 December 2014.
Saurashtra Cement is engaged in the manufacturing of cement.
