A bulk deal of 29.41 lakh shares was struck on the Sterlite Industries (India) scrip at Rs 82.75 per share at 09:48 IST on the BSE today, 13 June 2013.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was down 173.99 points, or 0.91%, to 18,867.14.
On BSE, 34.68 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against an average daily volume of 5.29 lakh shares in the past one quarter.
The Sterlite Industries (India) stock saw high intraday volatility. The stock lost as much as 3.05% at the day's low of Rs 81.05 so far during the day, which is also its 52-week low. The stock rose as much as 0.48% at the day's high of Rs 84 so far during the day. The stock had hit a 52-week high of Rs 123.35 on 3 January 2013.
The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 12 June 2013, falling 14.43% compared with the Sensex's 5.37% decline. The scrip had also underperformed the market in past one quarter, sliding 15.13% as against Sensex's 2.68% fall.
