Motherson Sumi Systems clocked volume of 4.04 lakh shares by 13:37 IST on BSE, a 10.33-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 39,000 shares. The stock surged 8.68% to Rs 196 after consolidated net profit surged 143% to Rs 249.60 crore on 20.49% growth in sales to Rs 7890 crore in Q3 December 2013 over Q3 December 2012. The Q3 result hit the market during trading hours today, 31 January 2014.
Grasim Industries notched up volume of 81,000 shares, a 5.4-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 15,000 shares. The stock lost 1.76% at Rs 2540.
Punjab National Bank (PNB) saw volume of 5.90 lakh shares, a 4.53-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.30 lakh shares. The stock surged 5.04% at Rs 543.95 as the bank's ratio of net non-performing assets to net advances declined to 2.8% as on 31 December 2013, from 3.07% as on 30 September 2013. The state-run bank announced the Q3 December 2013 results during trading hours today, 31 January 2014.
PNB's net profit declined 42.14% to Rs 755.41 crore on 3.68% growth in total income to Rs 11922.30 crore in Q3 December 2013 over Q3 December 2012.
