Novartis India clocked volume of 6.15 lakh shares by 13:46 IST on BSE, a 60.09-times surge over two-week average daily volume of 10,000 shares. The stock surged 6.96% at Rs 500.10 after the company's Swiss parent Novartis AG agreed to fork out $16 billion to buy GlaxoSmithKline Plc's cancer drug business.
Great Eastern Shipping notched up volume of 6.24 lakh shares, a 6.12-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 1.02 lakh shares. The stock rose 2.46% to Rs 355.50.
Titagarh Wagons saw volume of 4.61 lakh shares, a 5.77-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 80,000 shares. The stock jumped 11.78% at Rs 171.25.
Grasim Industries clocked volume of 33,000 shares, a 4.4-fold surge over two-week average daily volume of 7,000 shares. The stock lost 0.72% at Rs 2780.20.
Shasun Pharmaceuticals saw volume of 11.54 lakh shares, a 3.37-fold rise over two-week average daily volume of 3.42 lakh shares. The stock jumped 6.79% at Rs 112.45.
