15 die in ammonia leak in Shanghai

At least 15 people died and 26 were injured in a liquid ammonia leak at a refrigeration unit in Shanghai Saturday, authorities said.

The accident took place at about 11 a.m. at Shanghai Weng's Cold Storage Industrial Co. Ltd. in the Baoshan district, Xinhua reported citing a government statement.

The injured have been taken to hospital. Six of them were in critical condition, the statement said.
