Following a deadly attack on a father-son duo on the day of Holi, Gurugram Police on Friday arrested two persons, including the Sarpanch of Sidhrawali village.

The accused, Sarpanch Om Prakash Singh (48) and his son Pritam Singh (19), hired two sharp shooters who on Thursday allegedly opened fire on Ram Kishor, the owner of the Yadav Hotel in Sidhrawali located on the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway 8.

In the firing, Kishor and his son Satyendra sustained injuries and were admitted to the nearby Rockland Hospital in Maneser. The condition of father is stated to be serious.

During investigation, it was revealed that Kishor demanded an unpaid bill of Rs 17,000 from Om Prakash, who organised a women's cricket tournament in the area on March 15 and 16. The players were accommodated at the Yadav hotel.

"When Om Prakash was asked to pay the bill, he refused. His son even threatened to expose the alleged 'immoral activities' going on in the hotel," said Shamsher Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch.

"Pritam had hired two shooters known to him. Since both were locals, the victims identified the two when they opeed fire on them," The ACP said.

"The accused have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act. We have identified the shooters and they will be arrested soon," Singh added.
