Artistes are endangered species in Pakistan: Salman Ahmad

Pakistani sufi rock band Junoon's frontman Salman Ahmad says Pakistan is a country where artistes are an endangered species.
Sharing a link to the song "Sayonee" by Junoon featuring Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Ali Noor on Twitter on Monday, Salman wrote: "In a country where artistes are an endangered species, no open air concerts, no international cricket, Pakistani music rules!"
One Twitter user disagreed with him and said: "There are plenty of artistes! In every college of Lahore, you have high quality artistes, but they don't have the major platform to perform."
He replied saying: "It's the government's responsibility to protect the life and property of its citizens including artistes. Major platforms have to be provided by the government."
The Lahore-based guitarist and songwriter had unveiled Junoon's 25th anniversary special album "Junoon 25" in various countries last year.
