Arunachal hikes ex-gratia from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 50 lakh

The families of paramilitary troopers and soldiers dying on duty in Arunachal Pradesh will now get ex-gratia of Rs 50 lakh, a sharp hike from the earlier Rs 2 lakh, Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced on Thursday.
In the case of grievous or serious injury, the ex-gratia has been doubled to Rs 50,000. And in case of permanent disability, this will go up from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 10 lakh, Khandu said in separate letters to Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
Khandu the ex-gratia would also be applicable for permanent residents of Arunachal Pradesh employed in the paramilitary forces and armed forces anywhere in India.
"The move is a small gesture from the state government and people of Arunachal Pradesh to all the brave paramilitary and armed forces personnel," he said.
