A two-year-old boy whose penis was cut off by a relative is in a serious condition, a doctor in a private hospital here said on Tuesday.
Profusely bleeding and in extreme agony, Kartik was admitted to the private hospital for treatment on Monday.
The boy's aunt Poonam, 25, has been booked under Section 307 of the Indian Penal Code for attempt to murder, said Arun Kumar Singh, the station officer of Taj Ganj police station.
Pradeep, father of the victim, told the police that Poonam attacked the boy with a knife.
Poonam has been mentally disturbed after her daughter died some months ago, he told the police.
