Congress General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad on Friday handed over a special message from party President Sonia Gandhi to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during his visit to Dhaka.
Azad, along with a high-level Congress delegation, arrived in Bangladesh on Friday afternoon to attend the 29th triennial conference of Bangladesh Awami League, said a Congress statement.
On arrival at the Bangbandhu International Airport in Dhaka, Azad was received by senior functionaries of the Awami League.
"Azad handed over a special message from Congress President Sonia Gandhi to Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina this evening during a special meeting with her," said the statement.
Azad will address the conference on Saturday along with other dignitaries.
