Delhi Police have lodged a case in connection with the data erased from the hard disk seized from the house of businessman Gautam Khaitan who was arrested in AgustaWestland chopper deal case, officials said Saturday.
A case of causing disappearance of evidence of offence was registered by the Delhi Police's Economic Offence Wing Thursday, said an official.
In the FIR, lodged by Enforcement Directorate joint director Anil Ramkete, said that the seized disc which was sent to Bangalore office for forensic examination has been tampered with.
The data containing the disc were found to be erased, said the FIR, a copy of which is with IANS.
The FIR further said that the employees of Khaitan's office approached to a Delhi forensic expert's office Shree Computers to delete few folders from the seized disc.
The disc was sent to Bangalore office for forensic examination Sep 24. This office used the service of Shree Computers in examining the disc.
