CRPF trooper killed in Srinagar militant attack

A CRPF trooper was killed in a militant attack here on Tuesday, police said.

Police said militants attacked a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) patrol party outside the police control room in Batmaloo area here in the afternoon, injuring Shankar Lal of the paramilitary force's 23rd Battalion.

He was shifted to hospital where he later succumbed to critical injuries.

"The area is being searched now," a police officer said.
