East Bengal defender and former India international Anwar Ali complained of chest pain after training on Tuesday and was admitted to a hospital where he is stable, a spokesperson said.
"He complained of uneasiness after training and felt unwell. We immediately took him to a hospital where an angiogram was carried out," an East Bengal official told IANS.
A hospital spokesperson said: "He came here with a problem and is stable now. He will be under observation."
East Bengal are third in the I-League points table and have one last match to play in the league against relegated Mumbai FC on Saturday.
