A Palestinian prisoner, on hunger strike for the past one month, slipped into critical condition and was taken to a hospital.

Khader Adnan, detained in Palestine's Ramallah city since July 2014, went on a hunger strike in protest against his 10th administrative detention in Israel, ingesting only water for the past one month, reported EFE.

Admitted to the Assaf Harofeh hospital near Tel Aviv in Israel, Adnan remains handcuffed to the bed and watched by three police officers.

Israeli authorities have arrested Adnan nine times before, always under the condition of "administrative detention", which allows for arrests without accusations or charges and renewable every six months.

Adnan's case is one of the most prominent among the nearly 5,000 Palestinians serving sentences or being held in Israeli prisons under administrative detention.
