Father slashes son's neck, consumes acid

A 33-year-old man allegedly slashed the neck of his seven-year-old son with a knife and then attempted suicide by consuming acid here Thursday, police said. Both are in critical condition in a city hospital.

The father, identified as Sanjay, allegedly committed the crime around 3.30 p.m. at his house in north Delhi's Burari area.

The reason behind the act was yet to be ascertained, police said.
