G.V. Prakash sings for uncle A.R. Rahman in 'Mersal'

Actor-composer G.V. Prakash Kumar on Monday said he has sung an "energetic" number in Oscar winning music maestro A.R. Rahman's composition for upcoming Tamil actioner "Mersal".

"Happy to announce that I have sung an energetic number in 'Mersal' for my favourite A.R. Rahman Sir and Vijay," Prakash tweeted.

Nearly 18 years ago, Prakash had crooned as a youngster in Rahman's Tamil film "Mudhalvana".

"Mersal", directed by Atlee, stars Vijay in triple role.

He is tipped to be playing a Panchayat head, a doctor and a magician in the film produced by Sri Thenandal Studios.

The film, gearing up for Diwali release, also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Nithya Menen apart from a host of supporting artists.
