Gold, silver import tariff values slashed

The government Wednesday slashed import tariff value for gold to $392 per 10 grams and for silver to $519 per kg, an official statement said.

The tariff value for imported gold was $396 per 10 grams and for silver it was at $561 per kg earlier.

The import tariff value is the base price at which customs duty is determined to prevent under-invoicing. It is revised on a fortnightly basis.
