Gwen Stefani wants to adopt a girl

Singer Gwen Stefani, who has been dating crooner Blake Shelton, is reportedly planning to adopt a girl.

According to a source, Stefani has always wanted a daughter, reports hollywoodlife.com.

"Gwen is considering not just an infant, but children under the age of five," the source said, while adding that the singer wants to add a daughter to her family before Christmas.

"Gwen is telling friends that she wants to keep this really private and that she is trying to not get too excited yet, but she has been daydreaming about names already," the source added.

Stefani has three sons -- Zuma, Apollo and Kingston -- with her former husband Gavin Rossdale.
