French President Francois Hollande will visit the West African countries next week, including the Ebola-hit Guinea-Conakry Nov 28 and will focus on ways to eradicate the deadly virus, media reported Friday.

Hollande would "implement an action plan to fight, to end the Ebola virus in Guinea," the president's office said, according to a Xinhua report.

Hollande pledged to build more Ebola treatment centres in Guinea, beyond the military hospital, which is due to open in the forested region of southeastern Guinea, where the first cases of Ebola were detected.

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), Ebola has killed more than 5,400 people in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea since March.

The French president will also attend a summit of the French-speaking countries in Senegal's capital Dakar next Saturday.
