I-League: Neroca beat Lajong 2-1 to move to the fifth spot

Neroca FC rode on goals from and to get past Shillong Lajong 2-1 and jump to fifth spot in an game at the here on Sunday.

The second half began with Lajong continuing with their attacks and their efforts were soon rewarded when an acute angle pass from was received by Phrangki Buam to restore the parity.

Lajong could have found their second goal but missed the opportunity in the 79th minute.

Neroca who were visibly surprised at the attacking form of Lajong in the second half were back to their own by now and slowly started their attacks led by and supported by Katsumi Yusa, and

Neroca's return to the attack was soon rewarded when smacked the ball from an outstanding flick from Felix Chidi to regain the lead in the 83rd minute.

Lajong who apart from Indian Arrows are the only team in the 12th Hero to field an all-Indian squad showcased lots of guts and commitment along with creativity on the field today but were unlucky to be defeated third time in a row at home.

Neroca will now welcome Indian Arrows at the Khuman Lumpak Stadium, on December 7 while Shillong Lajong FC will travel to to take on Hero debutants Real on December 11.
