Granting interim relief to Shabir Ahmad Khan, a former minister accused by a woman doctor of sexual harassment, the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Wednesday directed the accused to appear before police Thursday.
Hearing the anticipatory bail application of Khan, Justice Janak Raj Kotwal passed an interim order directing Khan to present himself before police in Srinagar Thursday.
The court also said if police arrest the accused, he should be bailed out after furnishing a bail bond of Rs.25000.
The court has listed the anticipatory bail application for orders Feb 18. The court also directed that the accused should cooperate with the investigating officer and not leave the city or state without the permission of the officer.
A police team deputed to arrest Khan has so far failed to nab him.
