The Kerala assembly was adjourned for two weeks after uproarious scenes as CPI-M leader V.S. Achuthanandan was stopped from speaking in the house.

The speaker stopped the leader of opposition from speaking about Chief Minister Oommen Chandy's former son-in-law Ritchie Matthew on the grounds that the issue was not linked to the assembly.

"All that I wanted to say was that Chandy's former son-in-law has filed a petition in a family court against his former gunman Salim Raj, claiming that he is a devious person. Why is Chandy protecting him?" Achuthanandan told reporters later.

Raj, who is no longer with Matthew, allegedly has links with a con-couple, who are now behind bars in a cheating case.

Matthew was earlier married to Oommen Chandy's daughter Maria Chandy.

Over the past one week, the assembly has witnessed uproarious scenes over the con-couple's links with Oommen Chandy's office.
