The Union government on Thursday welcomed the Delhi High Court's verdict that the Lt Governor is the administrative head of the National Capital Territory and advised the AAP to shun "politics of confrontation" for development.
"The decision reflects that law of land is supreme and clears all misconceptions of Delhi government about the constitutional authority of the LG," Union Information and Broadcasting Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu told reporters.
Naidu suggested the Aam Aadmi Party government to "leave the politics of confrontation" and "focus on the development" of the city.
Criticising Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for dragging Prime Minister Narendra Modi in every issue, he said: "The NDA government believes in working with states for the development of the country."
