Mamata congratulates I-League champs Mohun Bagan

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday congratulated city football giants Mohun Bagan who became the I-League champions.

"After 11 years the Football I-League trophy comes back to Bengal. Congratulations Mohun Bagan," Banerjee tweeted.

Bagan drew 1-1 against reigning champions Bengaluru FC at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru to finish their I-League campaign on top of the table to clinch the title.

Another Kolkata giant East Bengal had won the national league 11 years ago.
