Man shoots himself in front of wife, mother

A 35-year-old man Monday shot himself with his licensed revolver in front of his wife, mother and brother-in-law at his home in the capital, police said.

Manoj Sharma, who had a documentation shop, shot himself in his right temple at his home in Bhajanpura area of east Delhi.

Police said Sharma returned Monday morning after attending a wedding with his family.

"He was showing the weapon to his wife, mother and brother-in-law, and suddenly put the pistol on his right temple and opened fire," a police officer said.

He was taken to a hospital where doctors declared him dead.

Police said they were checking whether it was suicide or he fired by mistake.
