Separatist guerrillas attacked a police checkpost here in Jammu and Kashmir Friday afternoon, triggering a gunfight that left one militant dead.
Police said militants attacked a police checkpost in Soura area, about 10 km from city centre Lal Chowk, following which there was a gunfight between the militants and the security forces. One militant was killed while two others are hiding in a house here.
Police said the gun battle is still on and the area has been cordoned off.
