India reduced New Zealand to 15 for four in the second innings after the hosts decided against enforcing the follow on the visitors who were bowled out for 202 by lunch on day three of the first Test here Saturday.
India, resuming their first innings at 130 for four, could only bat for 21 overs. Rohit Sharma added five to his overnight score to be the top scorer with 75.
New Zealand came out to bat and lost four batsmen in 7.4 overs including first innings double centurion Brendon McCullum. The home team still leads by 316 runs, courtesy its 503 in the first innings.
Fasts bowlers Mohammed Shami took two wickets while Zaheer Khan picked up one.
