One person was killed and 10 others were injured when a roof collapsed in a government hospital in Ratlam district in Madhya Pradesh.
According to hospital officials, 11 people were asleep on Saturday night in a verandah outside the maternity ward when the roof caved in. The rescue work continued until Sunday morning.
The part of the building where the accident took place had been in a dilapidated condition, made worse by the heavy Monsoon rains this season.
Madhya Pradesh Health Minister Rustam Singh said in Bhopal that the family of the person who died will get Rs 4 lakh as compensation.
