OPEC daily basket price closes lower (Lead, superseding earlier story)

Vienna, Jan 27 (IANS/WAM) The basket of 12 crude oils of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) closed at $42.90 a barrel Monday, compared with $43.69 a barrel last Friday, the OPEC secretariat said.

The OPEC reference basket of crudes (ORB) is made up of the following: Saharan Blend (Algeria), Girassol (Angola), Oriente (Ecuador), Iran Heavy (Iran), Basra Light (Iraq), Kuwait Export (Kuwait), Es Sider (Libya), Bonny Light (Nigeria), Qatar Marine (Qatar), Arab Light (Saudi Arabia), Murban (UAE) and Merey (Venezuela). One barrel of crude oil contains 159 litres.
