OROP: No breakthrough, veterans to continue protest

The protests over implementation of One Rank, One Pension will continue, armed forces veterans said on Tuesday adding that there was no breakthrough in the negotiations yet.

Representatives from the veterans met Army chief General Dalbir Singh on Tuesday to discuss the issue.

"We met the army chief because he is one of us... we are requesting him to facilitate the meetings (with ministers)," Indian Ex-Servicemen Front chairman Maj. Gen. Satbir Singh (retd.)told IANS.

"So far there is nothing which has come out..." he said.A

Earlier, there were reports of the veterans meeting Home Minister Rajnath Singh, and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, but Maj.Gen. Singh said they have not yet been able to meet them.

 

"We are trying to meet them," he added.

He said that their protest will continue.

"The protest will not be terminated till we get a notification implementing OROP," he asserted.
