Ph.Ds, M.Techs enrol for NBT's book publishing course

A four-week book publishing course organised by the National Book Trust (NBT) as a part of skill development initiatives that kicked off on Tuesday has attracted a few with higher education degrees.

The course was inaugurated at NBT's headquarters here with Sachchidanand Joshi, member secretary of Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts (IGNCA) as the chief guest.

NBT said in a statement that the course "has received enormous response from all over India".

"Thirty participants across the country are participating the course. Some of the participants enrolled for the course have even got Ph.D; M.Tech; and B.Tech degrees," NBT said.

 

On the occasion, Joshi said that even as eBooks have come into use, the charm of physical books shall remain forever and keep on attracting the readers.

He exhorted the participants to emulate highest standards set by other publishers, saying that publishing is an ideal profession for bringing in positive changes in life and the society.

NBT Chairman Baldeo Bhai Sharma said that training courses in book publishing have

caught attention of all stakeholders in the publishing field creating job opportunities for the trainees.

He said that these courses have attracted good response even in remote areas, including North East.
