Pranab's son retains Jangipur
President Pranab Mukherjee's son Abhijit Friday retained the Jangipur Lok Sabha seat in West Bengal defeating his nearest rival Muzaffar Hossain of the Communist Party of India-Marxist by a slender margin of 8,315 votes.
Congress nominee Abhijit Mukherjee, who had won the seat in 2012 in a by-election, polled 3,78,032 votes this time.
