Rihanna to be given 2014 Fashion Icon award

Singer Rihanna will receive the CFDA Fashion Icon Award this summer.

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Inc. Monday announced that the "Diamonds" singer will be honoured at the 2014 awards event, to be held June 2 in New York City, reports hollywoodreporter.com.

The award is given to one whose style has made a great impact on pop culture across the globe. In the past, stars like Johnny Depp, Lady Gaga and Kate Moss were also recognised.
