A benchmark index of the Indian equities market, the sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), closed flat on Tuesday -- provisionally down 28.29 points or 0.10 percent.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also closed flat -- provisionally down 5.55 points or 0.07 percent at 8,454.10 points.
The Sensex of the S&P BSE, which opened at 27,986.92 points, ended the day's trade at 27,932.90 points, down 28.29 points or 0.10 percent from the previous day's close at 27,961.19 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 28,018.59 points and a low of 27,853.96 points in the intra-day trade.
