Sensex closes 95 points higher

A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), on Friday provisionally closed the day's trading 94.65 points, or 0.38 percent higher.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also provisionally closed trading in the green -- higher by 24.05 points or 0.32 percent -- at 7,510.20 points.

The BSE Sensex, which opened at 24,620.39 points, provisionally closed at 24,717.99 points (at 03.36 p.m.) -- up 94.65 points or 0.38 percent from the previous day's close at 24,623.34 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 24,817.80 points and a low of 24,552.26 points during the day's trade.
