Several injured as explosion rocks Shanghai airport

Several persons were injured after an explosion rocked China's Shanghai Pudong International Airport on Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

The accident, due to fire crackers, occurred around 3 p.m. (local time) near a checking counter, Xinhua quoted police as saying.

The injured were rushed to hospital. An investigation has been launched, the police said.
