Slum children in the city have been creating works of art for the past few months and are all set to present them at an upcoming exhibition here.

To be organised by the Centre for Advocacy and Research (CFAR), the "Hamare Sapno Ke Rang-Youth Pradarshini" art Show will be on at Bal Bhavan on October 25.

The creative works that include paintings, sketches, short films etc to be displayed at the show, have emerged from the learning initiative called School of Life (SoL) by CFAR.

"This initiative, is a learner driven, peer-led, programme designed as a participatory and collaborative exchange between survivors of violence from the community and students of premier academic institutions of Delhi, and guided by mentors drawn from academic and creative professional streams," said CFAR Executive Director Akhila Sivadas in a statement released on Monday.

"The SoL programme started on June 1. We then conducted a five-day workshop and tutorial to provide conceptual clarity on gender to 55 learners. Some of them are survivors of violence or affected by it," she added.

"They took this learning forward and expressed their thoughts through different mediums during several practical and hands on workshops." she explained.
