Sonia wishes President on birthday

Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Sunday wished President Pranab Mukherjee on his 81st birthday, terming him "an inspiration for all who are in public life".

"Mukherjee is an inspiration for all who are in public life. His passion for his work and love for country is exemplary," she said.

Thanking him for service to the nation in a long political journey and as the president, Gandhi wished him long and happy life ahead.

Mukherjee assumed office as the 13th President of India on July 25, 2012.
