SP leader accuses Azam Khan of misappropriation of funds

Samajwadi Party (SP) functionary and former district panchayat chairman of Rampur Abdul Salaam on Friday opened a front against Urban Development Minister Mohd Azam Khan, accusing him of embezzlement of crores of rupees.

Salaam also accused Azam Khan, a legislator from Rampur, of fraud and treating the Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar University as his private fiefdom.

He told reporters that he has sent a complaint regarding swindling of thousands of crores by Azam Khan to President Pranab Mukherjee, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), home ministry and Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik.

He alleged that a lot of wrongdoing has been done at the behest of the powerful minister and the state government was turning a blind eye to his illegalities.
