Ten militants, including a key Taliban commander were killed as government forces stormed the militant group positions in Afghanistan's Baghlan province, officials said on Monday.
The government forces launched operations against Taliban fighters in Bagh-e-Shamal area on the outskirts of provincial capital Pul-e-Khumri on Sunday afternoon. Key Taliban commander Mullah Manan was among 10 killed on the spot, Xinhua news agency reported.
Army spokesman Mohammed Hanif Rezai said that the government forces would continue to chase the militants elsewhere in the province.
