Veteran Bengali singer Arati Mukherji joins BJP
Veteran Bengali singer Arati Mukherji Tuesday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.
"We welcome her with all the respect and hope her contribution will help revive Bengal's glory and enrich the state's culture," state BJP President Rahul Sinha told reporters.
The National Film Award-winner has sung in Hindi films like "Geet Gata Chal" (1975), "Tapasya" (1976), "Manokamana" and "Masoom" (1983).
