Frenemies forever

Devendra Fadnavis and Nitin Gadkari may be competing for the Maharashtra chief ministership but the two are "frenemies" in many more ways. Both are faithful RSS swayamsevaks and come from Nagpur, where the organisation's headquarters are located. Gadkari started his political career taking tips from Devendra's father Gangadhar. Devendra, who entered civic politics later and was elected to the state Assembly, closely followed Gadkari's rise in politics and insists he learnt a lot from him. And both claim that the talk of a rift between the two is pure media invention, and there is no ill will between the two, only goodwill.
